Urology of San Antonio
Issues: Create a Content Management System (CMS) that is well designed and easy to navigate, that the client can update in-house and increases the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for their existing positioning and marketing efforts.
Solution: Urology San Antonio wanted a cleanly designed website, especially focused on readability and ease of navigation for their visitors. Site design and layout, including font, color and navigation style were key elements used to aid in ease of use.
The site goals included providing information about Urology San Antonio, its many clinics and doctors, but also to serve as a great online research tool. To achieve both goals and still provide visitors a clean, easy to navigate site, a great deal of focus was put on navigation style. Bold colors, drop down menus, “quick links,” breadcrumbs and sub-menus were used throughout the site to make movement from section to section as logical as possible.
Dynamic custom controls were built into the Sitefinity based CMS site to provide Urology San Antonio the tools in-house to maintain the website. Providing visitors new research and interactive media was a central focus of the content on the site. Modular-based “Frequently Asked Questions”, interactive “News” and “Classes & Events” controls were built to allow these elements to be dropped throughout the site. Custom programming allowed category-specific content to be show on a page-by-page basis, further allowing Urology San Antonio to manage their own site.
Equally important for search engine placement was the design of logical “landing” pages, dedicated to larger practice areas. These pages were designed to act as independent “home” pages if a visitor linked into them from a search engine listing. Each landing page was designed to aid the visitor in ease of navigation, making finding their way to pertinent information as quick as possible.
Overall Gray Graphics provided Urology San Antonio with a well-balanced, clean and concisely presented website, with an extensive depth of content- all manageable in-house through the CMS solution.
